WELCOME
Big Bluestem is a small farm growing specialty cut flowers in Lawrence, KS. The farm was started in 2023 and we are excited to be growing for our third season in 2025! Our farm is community-supported and we use sustainable growing practices, including a commitment to farming without the use of chemical pesticides and fungicides.
We currently grow on two small plots of leased land, under a half acre combined. The land we steward is ancestral territory of the Osage, Kaw, and Kickapoo peoples; we recognize the history of violence and displacement that took place here.

Destinee Bush & Spencer Bond
Destinee and Spencer met in college and were drawn to farming because of it's position at the intersection of our shared values: environmental sustainability, resilient local food systems, and connection to our community. Outside of farming, we enjoy birdwatching, going for walks, making music, and snuggling with our three cats, Remy, Maeve, and Bambi.
